I am having a bunch of problems right now, First thing that happened was that Flash Player stopped working, I tried every thing to get that working(uninstalling and reinstalling Flash player several times, and uninstalling and reinstalling IE a bunch of times), the second problem is that the windows help and support center will not open, I looked in process explorer when i opend it and it opend for a second and shut right back off. so then i figured i would try a system restore, so i found the .exe file for it and this is all that happenes

so I am really confused, ---I am running Windows XP SP3--- , please help me at least get system restore working so i can do a restore and see if tht fixes everything else.

Thanks.

Try to Repair Windows with the XP cd. I had something very similar happen when i was using xp 32bit sp2. Repaired windows and it was fixed. if that doesnt work, see what you can do in safe mode

the problems appear with Windows XP SP3 ?.
"Microsoft also announced that the installation of the XP SP3 will not allow users to downgrade from Internet Explorer 7 to IE 6."link:http://www.efluxmedia.com/news_Windows_XP_SP3_Is_Not_Bug_Free_17405.html

Try to boot into safe mode and see if you can figure something out in there, but i can tell you that there is a chance that system restore won't work there either...but give it a shot.

run system restore with command line.
1. Restart your system
2. When the system first boots, type F8 to bring up the boot menu
3. Select the Safe Mode with Command Prompt option
4. Log-on as administrator if needed (type:user ''administrator'' without password )
5. At your command prompt type
%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
6. Hit Enter
6. This will open the system restore wizard...

Yes, I do dual boot, I have a 750 gb Partitioned C= VISTA x86 100gb D=XP prosp2 100gb E=Storage 500gb. I think I have enough space.

read this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302796Troubleshooting steps for issues when you try to use the System Restore tool in Windows XP.
i wait your request.

-after enabled system restore, copy "restore"folder located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\ (for xp) and the same folder for vista in a another folder where you want,in case you make a bad manipulation.

move or copy a file System Restore to another partition( eg:C:\WINDOWS\system32\restore\*.*).Why? because system Restore was tracking from one location to another while logged onto a different OS. As System Restore cannot incorporate this change.

try and if doesn't work replace folder like a Beginning.
