Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone knows how i can disable explorer from running at start up and instead somehow just have cmd load up?

Cheers

If you mean like boot into MS Dos you'll need a Win98SE boot disk.

Well I want everything running, just not explorer.exe. I want to be able to launch stuff from a folder in cmd so i can cut down on ram usage :)
In XP btw. Would a win98se disk do what i want?

I'm not sure if I completely understand you.
If you're wanting to run windows, but without explorer.exe running -- that's impossible.
If you're just wanting to boot into a DOS window hit F8 at startup and pick "Safe mode with command prompt"
If you want to boot into DOS without windows loading you'll need a 98 boot disk.

I run my windows without explorer.exe running. Its more fun. task manager, kill explorer.exe, run cmd and launch stuff from there. Frees up lot of memory :)

It's a registry key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

look for the "Shell" key. It should say Explorer.exe for a value. You can use that key to change the default shell, but I'm not sure deleting the entry will work.
