Audio with CD/DVD

Whenever I try to play a CD or DVD the sound/video becomes choppy. I have already tried replacing the CD drive and I have also tried adding more ram but there is still no difference. If anyone has advice on what to do it would be much appreciated.

Are you sure you have the correct audio drivers? Are they the most up to date for your sound card?

Then do it.
What he means is putting your system specs in your profile, so we know what hardware you're using.

Does the CD play correctly on other systems? ie couldn't the CD be scratched?
