I bought Gigabyte geforce 8800GS and im experiencing reboots after little bit playing in Crysis. I overclocked my card a little bit. to 700mhz core and 1800mhz shaders.i dont know if its because of the driver issue, power issue or the card. some people say that choose another card since 8800gs cards are bad and defective. is it the same to you? whats your stable overclock speed??? i have AcBel PS2/550watt PSU. im too confused. please help. thanks.

Don't you already have a thread discussing your issue? Here it is if you lost it: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=63801 :)

Ah, ok. I am not an owner of an 8800gs, but if your having problems, I would suggest reverting your card back to stock clocks, and see if that fixes anything.

If you got the 177.35/39 drivers, thats why. They did nothing good for me and something like that.

i just posted in your other thread. check it out....
8800GS is not "bad or defective." who the hell says that?
anyway i like my card. be careful with the overclocks, and keep it reasonably cool.
my "stable" overclock speed is 685/1745/1025. i would like to take the core a little higher but i read the tech power up review and it said evga / nvidia cap it near 700. i don't know....i tried it at 700 once. it was not stable. what i have it at right now is
175.70 drivers

My 8800GS is currently game stable at: (750/1875/2100)
Fantastic little card. Soon to be replaced though, (Doing complete overhaul with CF).

yea my XFX topped at 650 core with stock cooler, put at least a VF-700 on it, and my XFX went all the way to 720 core with 1800shader stable

No it's not different, it's exactly the same question. In fact, it's your third topic related to the same issue. The other being specifically about PSU requirements. Please keep it to a single thread per issue.
