View Full Version : can't play .avi sounds with adobe master CS3 premiere

I can play it and hear it with KMP player. I need to make premier play the sound. What should I do? Thanks

instal the audio codec . just install ffdshow and u'll be able to play it in premiere .

It should be able to play with out any codec. Is is copy the sound over when you drag the avi over?

No soundwaves when I drag it over to timeline. I only see the video part. It also only shows a video tape icon next to the file in the project files listing

Well I know Mpeg doesn't copy sound over. You have to extract it yourself, using another program. I just test with using avi video's, and they do not copy over audio. You'll have to use a program to extract the audio. I use Mpeg all time, so I don't use avi or wma all that much. Use Alive Video Alive Video Converter. It works really good, and it fast.
