Hello, I am fixing a Gateway GT5058 computer with the C51GU01 motherboard. I am having troubles getting the network drivers to work. I went to the Gateway website and downloaded the correct drivers according to the serial number of the PC. They are Nvidia Nforce drivers and the install goes perfect, but when I do the mandatory reboot the network drivers do not work. I have tried every way possible to install them and the drivers dont work. Here (http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/getFile.asp?id=20700&dscr=Motherboard%20Driver%20Package&uid=200768034) is a link to the drivers that Gateway points me too. The Windows OEM serial number is for Windows Media Center 2005. Thanks for your help.

Did you try a manual install or did you just run the wizard?

Extract the folder from the download with your favorite .zip program -> Run the add hardware wizard -> When the dialog box pops up asking if you have installed the hardware select "yes" and click next -> In the next dialog box scroll down to the bottom and select "add new hardware" click next -> Select "install hardware that I manually select from a list" click next -> Choose "show all devices" and click next. -> click "have disk" and navigate to the \D00447-001-001\Ethernet\inf directory. -> install the .inf files located there.

and/or go to the nVidia website and download the appropriate drivers for your chipset. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Hi, thanks for your reply. Yes, I have tried the setup.exe file, and I pointed the windows installer to the C:/cabs file. I even tried the Nvidia drivers. Nothing worked. I think the onboard network card could be going bad. I installed a seperate network card and now everything works. It was weird. Thanks for your help.

You probably should check for BIOS updates and also need this driver;

D00447-001-001.exe - Motherboard Driver Package.

Hmm, that is the file that I downloaded and ran. Everything works, except the network drivers. I have not done the firmware update. I didn't think I needed too.
