These cards are so powerful though, you need a lot of money to buy the card, and a lot of money to afford a cpu that can keep up with these suckers, and when it's in SLI...

well atleast by next summer we will know how down the prices will go , and this card even without sli ( which i cant even imagine the mere power of 2 of these ) is so freakin fast , i dont think there are games out or will be out in the next year to give this thing a hard time.

i am sure the prices will fall after christmas , 750 bucks is too crazy , i aint that desperate or crazy , real happy with the performance my x800 xt pe is giving for a 250 dollars card ........... plays all my games and with fun performace too ! :rockout:

Eh, it's faster, but I think I'll stick with the x1800 XT. $700 is just too steep for me. Plus x1800's overclock like beasts from what I've heard.

Am i the only one is a little afraid that nVidia had to REDESIGN the card to beat the X1800XT. Will they keep on bringing out slower cards in the beginning then redesign the cards and screw alot of people.

on secodn thought i would still go for a x1800 xt , its something about solid power from ati that i love .............. and yes u r right about the beast overclocking on the x1800 xt mofo !

Bullshit same technology just used super $$$$$$$$$$$$$ memory to beef it up to keep up with the x1800xt, crap old technology nvidia sucks!!!!!!!!!

I don't know why everyone's so excited about the price though... If you really think the price is so exhorbitant, you should come to SA to experience our budget prices. ;) This baby can't be found in SA yet, but a normal 7800 GTX 256MB costs anything between R5500 and R7000. Which translates into between $815 and $1037. We can get a X1800XL here for R5000 which is a bargain as well (Only $740). Even a 6800GT costs R3500 ($518) which is already a pretty old card. Unfortunately no online stores will ship to SA though... :(

And this thing is REALLY fast though! You can't complain about that? Don't quite know how a 1GHz X1800XT would perform though? :D

ati has a totally different architecture , they can juice those 16 pipes and come so close to nvidia , just imagine if the x1800 had 20-24 pipes , its like tellin nvidia , that we r just playin with u right now , i think they r letting nvidia play most of their cards by them only putting out cards which do outperform the nvidia in most cases specially when using anti aliasing where ati holds its ground more ............... this is a war which moves like chess pieces , and right now with the technology ati has they can kick the livin SHIAT out of nvidia , the only problem is they make u wait too much , LOL :rockout:

Sweet zOaib! Alienware! :rockout:

And we'll just have to wait for the 24pipe version to come out or even the 32pipe R580. Just imagine the goodness of a 32pipe R580 core clocked at 1GHz... It makes me want to cry... ;)
