Introduction

First off I would like to thank Nick and Mike of CrazyPC (http://www.crazypc.com)for providing us with this review sample.

The Copperhead is packaged so that you can see it through the packaging. The back is all about the specs, much of the writing is just the specs in different languages.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/features_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/features.jpg)
An up-close of the specifications, many of which we already listed

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/side1_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/side1.jpg)
The side of the box gives even more specs, but the graphics and charts are pretty cool

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/side2_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/side2.jpg)
Here is just a little message from the "Razerguy"

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/certificate_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/certificate.jpg) http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/manual_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/manual.jpg) http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/message_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/message.jpg)
When you open up the manual, you get three surprises: a certificate from the "RazerGuy", a message telling you the stock DPI settings, and a stylish manual.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/useful_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/useful.jpg) http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/cd_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/cd.jpg)
The manual is useful and has tons of info on how to set and use the mouse. There is also a driver and application CD in the back.

Mouse and Software
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/mouse_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/mouse.jpg)
When you first take it out of the box it looks like any other mouse, but when you take a closer look below.
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/right_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/right.jpg) http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/left_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/left.jpg) http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/top_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/top.jpg)
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/lazer_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/lazer.jpg)
Above photos are the leftside, rightside, top and bottom, they tell a lot about the mouse itself. From what I have experienced it is a very comfortable mouse and I have large hands. The buttons are pretty big and allow me to easily press them down. The buttons on the side can be assigned with the software to do almost anything you want them to. From changing the DPI to going back and forth on the internet.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/curve_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/curve.jpg)
This picture shows the curve of the mouse from the back.
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/usb_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/usb.jpg)
The golden USB connector does not make any difference in signal quality, it still is nice to look at.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/software1_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/software1.jpg)
Here is the software that is used to control the mouse and precisely tune it. In the bottom you can drag some buttons for changing the DPI and polling rate. Then you click apply and your settings are transferred to the mouse.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/options_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/options.jpg)
Here are the mouse click options. They apply to the four mini buttons on the side of the mouse.

The Mouse in Action
Didn't you just see the mouse? Well now you'll see it turned on and in action!

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/lightedmouse_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/lightedmouse.jpg) http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/mouselighted_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/mouselighted.jpg)
Above, you see the Copperhead with its precision lighting. The green lighting radiates from the mouse and looks very nice in dim to dark lit rooms. In a well lit room the lights will also be visible.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/lightedside_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/lightedside.jpg)
Here is the side bar, which is made of a transparent plastic grip, which feels soft but not squishy.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/lightedsymbol_small.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/GreenCopperhead/images/MOV02196.MPG)
The symbol pulses very slow and constant (click the image to see a short mpeg movie of it). It doesn’t pulse to music or DPI settings, which would be an annoyance.

I tested this mouse on white/black/yellow/brown wood, plastic, a normal mouse pad, and paper without any problems.

I really love the feel of the mouse, it's soft and ergonomically lets your hand sit on it. You don't feel any abnormalities or tiredness in your hands, even after a couple hours of use. My old mouse was an Microsoft Intellimouse, which I got in a package with the keyboard. It cost me, with the keyboard, the same price that the Copperhead costs. But I would have gotten the Copperhead instead of the Intellimouse back when I was in the market for a mouse.

The Razer Copperhead mouse will run you under $80 (http://www.crazypc.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=4273G). The price is steep, but if you have to have your high performance mouse then it might be worth it. </td>

2000 DPI
1000Hz Ultrapolling
Software with ability to update firmware
Nice grip and lighting
64-bit drivers
Works for left-handers

<th>9.0</th>
<td>Though this mouse is the best I have ever owned, its price is steep. I game everyday and I love this mouse and its high DPI. While I do not notice much difference between the 500 Hz and 1000 Hz Ultrapolling, the difference between the 2000 DPI and the 1600 DPI setting is very noticable.<br />
Lighting on the mouse is excellent, well visible without being annoying. There are no loose parts or even scratching. The laser works great, reads on almost all surfaces and is invisible to the naked eye. The pulsating symbol is a nice touch and adds a little bling to the mouse.</td>

did you test lifting it up, etc. for any of the problems that other leaser mice (ie MX1000) have?

when i lift it up, the pointer stays in place, but with acceleration on or on high dpi theres no need to lift it up.
