sounds good. somethings you should consider. fan controller, fans, heatsink for 4870, heatsink for e8400, gaming grade mouse and keyboard.

I would change the case to a NZXT Tempest.

It all looks great man but I'd get the Antec 1200 instead.

The 8400 seems a bit expensive NE has it for under a $200 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115037). If you wait six months the 8600 will help drive down the pricing on the 8xxx series all together.
Nice mobo/gpu. Might want to beef up the PSU to keep up with any overclocking!

You might want to consider getting an Asus P5E or Maximus formula motherboard instead of the rampage formula. I have a P5E, that has been flashed with the rampage formula bios, it's working flawlessly, and gives a bucketload more overclocking options in the bios. They're all basically the same motherboards with a few slight differences and different bioses.

Already have moniter, harddrive, cd drive, mouse & keyboard.. can't get anything from newegg im from australia remember =P www.mwave.com.au is the best so far for us...

if i got this board and flashed it to rampage formula bios will it do just fine ? even tho ill be saving $100, just a side note i don't plan on overclocking the graphic card or cpu
however should i consider a different heatsink for the CPU ?

Asus P5E Deluxe Motherboard, LGA775, Intel x48, Dual DDR2, 2x PCIe x16, 6x SATAII

Thanks

Everything looks fine except MoBo. I'd rather buy Asus P5Q Pro or P5Q3. This way you can save a lot of green dollarz and get the same(or better) performance & OC'ing.

...And don't forget about cooling!

personally i think that set-up is fantastic !!
just asking, are you going to be overclocking the E8400, if you are well than thats good !! if you arent, thats good too !! lol
from my point of view everything fits into each other !! just make sure that you get the best heatsinks and coolers etc !!

good luck with the rig !!

Don't plan on overclocking yet.. the heatsink for cpu is stock ill change it one day.... however ran some benchmarks got 12500 on 3dmark06(windowsxpsp3) kinda low.

the stock heatsink will be fine if you running stock speeds on your CPU, don't worry about a new heatsink unless you decide to start OC'ing.

As for your benchmark score, 12,500 is about right. My system at stock speeds barely breaks 15k, and that's with a GX2(which is still the 2nd fastest single card available). If you were to OC your system, I'm willing to bet you could get close to 17k(I went from 15k to almost 20k by OC'ing)

awesome stuff!. you i might consider oc the graphic card on load its only about 50 deg .. and thats only 50% of fan speed.

aww you bought the tempest :)

have you tried tucking some cables in the mother board holes?

what you need to do is take all the active cables put them together and apply 2 cable ties. the unused cables should be folded 2 or 3 times like ear buds and apply a cable tie.

there is a trick I learned a while ago with SATA cables sometimes they are too long or people buy extensions. take the cable and wrap it around a pen, hold it tight for 5 minutes and unravel it should look like a neat phone cord.

it's ATX not Micro. I think it's just the Tempest motherboard plate is spacious.
