I recently Installed a 6600GT into an older system of mine with a MSI K8N platnium mb with nforce3

I was looking over the temps for it, and noticed it was hot, so while doing a little mucking around, I installed Core center, for the motherboard, it monitors cpu temps and voltages etc

shortly afterwards it set off its alarm, saying the 3.3v is at 4.08, and the 12v is at 15.50v

so I quickly shut down the computer and rebooted it and went to the bios, where the 3.3v reported to be at 2.99v, and the 12v at 15.50v

After doing a little searching, I was told about a program called speed fan, it reported 11.63v on 12v rail and 4.08v on 3.3v

I pulled out a spare molex conntector and hooked a multimeter to it, its showing 11.68v on 12v rail, 5.00 on 5v rail(didnt test the 3.3v rail with meter, my hands aren't steady enuff)

Is there anything to be concerened about here?

its not the gpu thats causing it its your psu

I think your right there, the 6600gt put my psu over its limits i think, i underclocked my cpu from 2.0ghz to 1.8ghz, and systems stable again all reporting normal voltages

Delete this thread pretty please mod, this is a PSU problem not a GFX problem
