Hi guys. Since i bought my new 8800GT i've had this weird problem. When i play games after 30 minutes or so the whole screen gets full of artifacts and when i press alt+tab and go back to the game again everything goes back to normal. And my card is not overclocked. I changed the cooling to Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev. 2 because with my old cooler the card was running very hot. Now the card's temp never goes above 50C but the problem still occurs. Do you guys have any idea what the problem might be. My other components are as follows:
Core2Duo E8200@3.44Ghz, 2GB DDR2 800Mhz, ASUS P5K and Chieftec GPS-500AB- A 500W PSU

2 Things you could try checking if its stock, is the thermal paste didnt go to far over, is its a passive cooler?, it looks like one on the site, perhapse you got one with a semi bad batch of vram that got a lil cooling from air movement off the old stock fan, and kept them running

just a theory

Edit: Whoops, i Need to read posts better, did this happen before you changed the from stock cooling aswell?

and what brand name is you GT?

Well it's an Inno3D 8800GT stock cooling(the new small fan). I had this problem before and after i installed the new cooler. It was running very hot so i changed it with the above cooler. The problems still appeared after that. The thing is that it only happens once after playing. After alt+tab everything is working properly and the problem stops accuring until restar:wtf: This is the stupidest thing and is pissing me off. I read somewhere on the net that the qimonda vram chips latencies are different than the default ones but i cannot find the modded bios with the correct latencies. I found it once but never thought of using it. And now i cannot find it. Does anybody know where i can find the modded bios. Peace

you could use NiBitor 4.1(just make sure the green dot on it, stays green) to slacken the memory timings yourself and bios flash it with nvflash and a boot disk it ya wanted, would give you alot more tinkering room then a preset one

Well the problem is that i don't know the correct timings for the Qimonda chips. The bios i found before had them all set correctly. I'll try and find more info for the timings on the net.
