Yesterday I installed an Accelero S1 Rev.2 on my 8800gts 512. Now idle temps are 60C and after 1 min of atitool artifact scan it was at 70C (and would've increased if I didn't stop it). I don't know what the problem is, I cleaned the gpu and ram with 99% isopropyl alcohol. The accelero ram sinks stuck on fine, so I know it's not a ram issue. Currently it's running without a fan but I know even without a fan it's supposed to be much better than 60C idle.

Your case airflow probablly isn't good enough to keep your card under 60c. Strap a 120mm fan on it and all should be fine.:)

Just reinstalled s1 and added turbo module, idle 47 and load 60. This is still pretty bad because stock cooler performed basically the same.

Deffinietly put a 120mm fan on it. Especially if you only have an exhaust fan in your case!

The turbo module (2x 80mm) is not good enough?

Not with your poor case airflow. At least not to where you want your temps.

I wouldn't really worry... I have an 8800GT on my rig in system specs, stock cooler, factory BFG OC2 overclock, sometimes I oc it myself as per specs... been running it since last November. I have 1x 120mm and 1x80mm intake and 1x 80mm exhaust.
Idle is ~56 and load is ~78. It always performs well and I can't complain. :ohwell:

Yeah I get what you mean but my main reason for buying an aftermarket cooler was to vmod it next week or so...judging by current temps I don't feel safe vmoding it at all. It performs more or less like the stock cooler at 100% fan, maybe even a bit worse. I'm definitely gonna put a 120mm fan and see what happens :) (enjoying the silence though)
