Sony's Copyright Protection program, XCP, contains code written by DVD Jon and submitted to LGPL which is to protect chunks of code not finished programs.

"Sebastian Porst discovered code from the LAME project, mpglib and VideoLAN in the XCP copy restriction, which has caused Sony so much grief. Jon Johansen is a contributor to the VideoLAN project."

i do believe they're already being taken to court in several class-action law-suits, even before these news.
can't say i'm surprised though, after they put a goddamned rootkit on your computer anything is possible. including stealing other people's code.
i just hope to god that someone hangs them bastards out to dry and teaches them the lesson they deserve.
