Does anyone know what the maximum recommended operating voltage for DDR2 is? I've heard taking DDR of a certain voltage can damage it.

I have corsair ddr2-1000 mhz running on 2.2V. @5-4-4-9 This is recommended by corsair for these sticks.
I don't know at what voltage they would fry at. Most ddr2's run at 1.8 volts stock.

How about for a 533MHz module.

Most ddr2-533mhz sticks run at 1.8 volts and should be fine up 2 volts or more. Heres a link to a newegg page with ddr2-533's just check out the specs on these sticks. Do you know what brand your sticks are?

Yes. There cheap A-DATA. they're stock 1.8v with 4-4-4-11 timings. If I take them up to 1.95v I can get my timings down to 3-3-3-8 at 533MHz I'm just trying to see if that is to much voltage for these modules. I recognize the fact that some better brands can get above 2.0v, but I worry about these cheaper modules. Do you think it should be alright?

With overclocking the first rule I was told is that there are no warranties. If you dont feel good about it I would not do it. With that said I have never fried any parts on my system, just take it slow and a little at a time and test. You should be fine slowly raising you memory voltage.

up to 2.2v should be fairly safe IMO

Yeah. I'm going to get some good OCZ RAM next time I'll feel safer using some RAM designed for a little more abuse. 1.95V should be fine. I'll just test it out.
