Hello all. I would like to know what would be a good choice for a motherboard that works great and easy to overcock as well as good for gaming. What would you suggest? Thanks.

Are you going to be building an AMD or Intel based machine.

What processor, video card, and ports will you be needing?

Also, what is your budget? The more info you can give us, the better we can suggest.

Uptime73, it would help if you put your system specs in your profile.
Then we can look to see what you have and you don't have to keep typing that stuff into posts.

I plan to go AMD based, since I have used it in the past. I'm thinking of going dual core if not higher. I currently have an AMD Athlon 1800+ I belive with Gigabyte motherboard. I'm planning on upgragding. As far motherboard is concertned, what would be a good choice for an AMD dual processor that is good for gaming and overclocking? Also what would be a good choice for video card that is good for overclocking and for gaming?
Thanks,
Josh

id stay away from the Gigabyte mobo... heard ppl saying they arnt very good... i use the Asus m3a32-mvp deluxe... used a 6400 duel core cpu without any problems and it o/c'd very well.. why dont ya get the Phenom 9850 black while you can...(there locking the multi) and just calling it the 9850
im also using a 3870x2 gpu but for 200 dollars i'd get the new 4850 unless ya can swing the extra cash and get the 4870 instead... Buuuuut if you can wait a few more weeks... get the new Asus mobo that has the 790gx chipset... it's a sweet o/c'r....:D

I have had 5 Asus motherboards die on me in the last 2 years...... P5N-D, P5N-T, P5N32-SLI(x2), P5K
I have had no Gigabyte motherboards die on me ever. ;)
I have used many different motherboards.
