View Full Version : Maxell and InPhase introduce holographic media

In the second half of 2006 Maxell and InPhase will release their holographic disk on the market. Holographic media should be superior to the current optical storage media. It offers up to 1.6TB (Yes, 1600Gb) which can be read at 120MBps and hold its data for over years. I'm not sure if the first product will offer this huge amount of space though it sounds quite promising either way.
Pricing is not known yet though it should be a lot cheaper than any currently storage media, we will know in a few months.

Yeah! Can't wait. Although we'd probably move to broadband software distribution anyways. I don't think we're going to be buying games on Holo-disks anytime soon... :)
