View Full Version : Core and Memory clocks reverting when playing D3D games.

I've recently overclocked my GeForce 6800 Ultra from 425/1100 (core/memory) clock speeds to 450/1200 and for some stupid strange reason it's going back to stock settings when I play my Direct3D games.

Why? I am unsure, I was wondering whether anyone could tell me a solution on fixing this, hope you can anyway!

I found out because NFS:MW (Need for Speed: Most Wanted) keeps getting cloggy and bad and freezing then back to normal. So I thought I would record the clock speeds and guess what... My theory was correct, my clock settings where going back to stock...

Hope someone can help me sort this out so it wont revert!

Why would I use ATi Tool on and nVidia graphics card? -- I'm using Riva Tuner :P

Okies, never knew ATi Tool had support for nVidia based graphics cards, I might give it a go sometime... Can anyone here who has tried Riva Tuner tell me this; Is ATi Tool in a way better/simpler to configure fan and core/memory clocks than that of Riva Tuner?

hmm i cant but i can tell you one thng if you do decide to try ati tool get beta 8 or the stable .24 release though i dont know if .24 has nvidia supposrt i dont think the newest beta would work cause its been mooded for the new x1800 models he may have dumped the nvidia support or it might/does have alot of bugs...try asking this question in the ati tool forum you might get noticed more because ppl think this is just clock related not "program related" more ppl might look/ :)

Nevermind =)

I sorted it out now, just lowered the graphics a tad and it works fine now, must have been too much for my card on full whack hehe!
