Need to know what type of PCB, what brand and do you have the R350 or R360 core ?? Specs....... ;)

chip type R350

R98-pc3f R9800 PRO EZ 128bit

ATI RADEON 9800 PRO 128meg 128 samsung 380/600

CN-R98-DC3D-1A-47D-00W5 A00

AGP x8/x4/x2, 128MB DDR SDRAM in 4 Samsung chips. 3.3ns indicates 300 (600) MHz clock. 128-bit bus(!).

? Are you sure that your card is 128Bit Memory Interface??
I'm asking because the normal 9800s are 256Bit's and there were only some SE versions wich were cutted down because they where Cheaper ones.
Look in the GPU-Database, you will see that there are many versions of the Radeon 9800 with different PCB and cores.
Only the Radeon 9800 128MB R360 Core is moddable into an 9800XT via Bios mod (9800XT bios flash) and some "SE" versions wich have deaktivated pixelpipelines (only 4 insted of 8) are moddable into full radeon 9800 version via driver (softmod) or hardmod (silverpaint on the core)

The cut-down PowerColor’s RADEON 9800 EZ graphics card operates at 380MHz/600MHz for chip/memory with 8 rendering and 4 geometry pipelines, but are based on PCBs similar to that of the RADEON 9500 PRO – with 128-bit memory bus for 128MB of DDR SDRAM memory.

Actually it is an "EZ"
so yea it is with 128Bit interface

Its a Powercolor card:
http://www.techpowerup.com/img/05-11-26/14-131-279-02_thm.jpg (http://www.techpowerup.com/img/05-11-26/14-131-279-02.jpg)

notice were the memory is located? 2 in the front, 2 in the back, the spots for the memory to the right of the cooler are empty. And it has the normal SE/9700 cooler, and power connector.

Its much like the move of the 9600 PRO "EZ" with 400MHz GPU and 400 MHz Memory (instead of 600MHz Memory) all quite shady stuff if you ask me!

The thing is, that you cannot treat them like real moddable 9800 SE as here there is no more than 128Bit available, and from what I know the cards allready have 8 pipes (thus the "PRO" part in the name)

These were short lived cards, as everyone complained that these are in no way real "PRO" cards...

The only good news is, that this card should OC well with the R350 core

sorry to hear about your loss.... The card you have isn't all that bad with the exception of only being 128-bit. They do overclock very well from what I've been reading though. ;)

just keep moving it up till you start noticing artifacts then back it down.

I don't use ATI Tool ... to inaccurate. I use RadLinker. I just move the sliders up about 5 notches or so until the core starts to artifact then back it down till I find the right spot then do the memory. I run Aquamark or 3Dmark 2k1 /2K3 /2K5 to benchmark.

what do you mean by "playing up" ? Have you been overclocking it to high? If so back down the core and memory to the stock speeds. See if that helps things out.

well took it down to normal speeds not done it to much tbh geting strange things on me lcd mite be me monitor or the card will see what hapens now

You can always go into add/remove programs and delete Radlinker and reboot and see if your problem goes away. Having your card clocked to high for to long without sufficient cooling will damage your card.
