hello, Just bought 2x512 Corsair XMS PC3200 Ram and sposto be rated 2-3-3-6 and when i installed i got 3-3-3-8 at 200mhz. I was wondering how can u configure it to get the 2-3-3-6 latency. Thanks

You need to go throught your bios, then find the memory section and change the appropriate settings. CAS-TRCD-TRP-TRAS.

Also it may be a bit unstable at that latencies with the stock memory voltage... But only up the voltage to about 2.7V or 2.8V if your're experiencing problems at 2-3-3-6 timings. ;)

problems would be rebooting and such, good luck:rockout:

is one of the problems like when u get windows loading and as soon as u see your desktop it goes into a blue screen saying , " some problem was detected " blah blah blah

and it reboots your computer , ??? :ohwell:

Can be... if you run it above specs without changing something else, like voltage to keep it stable. But if you run your memory at it's rated timings/voltage/speed, there should be no reason why it should cause instability.

well all i did was change in my bios the dram settigns from auto to manual because in auto it was running the ddr at 333mhz and i changed it to be 400mhz , it did the blue screen the first time and at the bottom it said , Dumping all physical memory to disk : ......... and showed as a percentage increasing upto 100 then rebooted the computer and the blue screen never came back , ddr is at 400mhz now and everythign si runnign fine , so what did this all mean then ?

In my experience on the A8N-SLI Premium if you touch the Max Memclock (MHz) setting under DRAM Configuration it resets everything under Jumperfree Configuration to defaults.

Also, if you touch the CPU Frequency setting under Jumperfree Configuration it resets everything under the DRAM configuration to defaults.*edit*provided the Max Memclock (MHz) is set to something other than 400MHz

I've tried BIOS versions 1005 and 1009 and it does this in both. So this resetting to default behaviour might be the cause of some of your instability, that is if the default settings for whatever reason are not stable.

makes sense , although the cpu frequency didnt reset since i overclocked the cpu using AI BOOSTER (by asus) , and when my computer booted back i was still at 2.6 ghz but now everythign is smooth no problem (god willing) , lol .................. can anyone of u guys direct me to some place where i can get more info on how to overclock ram with respect to different specs of motherboards and how to increase or decrease voltages for cpus and rams etc etc ............... (somethign that would be totally for NOOBZ) ......... thx

-DAN ..... i got 4 x 1024 mb sticks in my 4 dimms

That's why it has to run at 333MHz. It's a limitation of the memory controller. If you were to get a newer core, you could run at 400MHz, 2T CPC.
