Hey I read on a older post that there was a X850 Pro normal bios with the 16 pipelines enabled.
The thing is with the X850 XT Bios the fan is messed up...
Now I have it plugged directly to my powersuply at 12v to have it run at 100%
But I'd like to find a x850 Pro BIOS with the oroginal timings and everything but with 16pipes
enabled.
For now i modified my x850 XT bios with Rabit (Ati Radeon BIOS tuner) to run at
500/500 and then when i get in windows i just boost it up to 520/580 before i play any games.
Well my post seams a little confusing but what i'm asking is only a x850 Pro bios with 16p.
Thanks in advance i know i seen one but i just cant find the post anymore.

Yo dude anytime!
I was thinking of purchasing an ATI X850 Pro, and then modding it to an XT-PE
How did you find modding the card? Was it smooth as the link had said or maybe some other problems came up?
If everything went well with you, I'll go for the X850 Pro and mod it!
Cheers!

No problems at all moding.
But one thing though.
First thing I did was flash it to a XT-PE BIOS but the card couldn't run at these speeds without crashing.
I then flashed it to a XT BIOS played for a while until i realised my card was getting hotter then usual with ATItools then i stopped playing looked at the card and the fan was messed up.
Spinning then stoped spinning and so on.
I then switch back to Pro to see if the fan was broken but then the fan was normal.
So I took a XT bios and modified to run at 500/580 on bootup.
I pluged the card's fan directly to a 12 volt cause when your fan runs at 100% it runs 12v.
So that is why i wanted a X850 pro bios with the 16 pipes enabled to replug my fan to the card normally.
Anyways before I play any games i boost up the card to 520/580 the memory can go pretty high even got it close to 600 above 600 it crashes in 3dmark...
Anyways i haven't tried to bioses you gave me in the link cause im not sure they are ATI cards or others...
I think with good cooling this card can do A LOT...
But then again some cards are better then others its luck of the draw really.

Is your card an PCI-E or AGP version?

It looks like they are ATI Bioses, if you check near the top they recommend you using the ATI version of the X850 Pro.
And anyway, it does not really matter which manufacturer's bios you use, as long as it belongs to the X850 XT-PE
What I would recommend would be to take one of those bioses, edit it and lower its clock speeds, and then flash with your edited bios.
Or, another alternative may be: Back up your original bios (or download the one from this site for the X850 Pro), then flash to the XT PE using the modified Flashrom (this will enable the 16 pipes), and then reflash back to the X850 Pro bios with the NORMAL Flashrom... you will still keep the 16 pipes!
Thanks dude!

If you have an agp card the thread is here,
http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=6094
If you do have an agp card and want to do a bios dump I can mod your 850 pro bios to 16p for you (thanks ShadowFlare). It will keep the same speeds and timings, the fan will continue to work and 16p will be open.

If you flashed the 850pro bios to an 850PE, but couldn't unlock the extra 4 pipes (my card is a PCI-E so the card stayed at 12 pipes). HOw much performance would you be missing. The card is running at 850PE clock speeds (with the BIOS flashed with a PE bios), but only with 12 pipes. How much more speed do you gain by getting the extra 4 pipes?

The only comparative test I have between the two is a couple of runs with 3dmark05. Right out of the box, on my old athlonxp system the pro pulled 5153, opened the pipes and it jumped up to 5879. Bumping the clocks from the default 500/500 to 555/600 got me 6250. Opening the pipes was the single biggest gain I made.

Well yah i could give you the x850 Pro bios i have it backed up somewhere :p
But i have found a BIOS i think will work
http://www.overclock.net/attachments/faqs/12341-how-flash-your-x850pro-xt-pe-16-pipe-x850-pro-agp-1.6.zip?d=1126592390
its the x850 pro agp 1.6 with the fan control.
The only problem though is i beleive but i am not sure i``m at work right now
that this BIOS has the core set to 520 but then again i could just modify it
to run at 500/580 on boot up and i wouldn`t have no fan problem.
Then set the fan to 100% with ATItools. (I dont care about noise hehe)
My girlfriend does though but that anotehr thing cough cough...
And yes my card is AGP.
But yah like i said i will give you the x850 pro bios from my ATI card so you could do a
ATI x850 pro 16 pipes for everyone that would need it.
One more thing you said you clocked the core all the way to 555 is that with stock coolingÉ
(Argh french keyboards...) dunno how to do a question mark on it...

Thats ok, already one posted here that someone did for me a while back. 850pro clocks (500/500) with 16p and 1.6ns mem. The fan speed thing lasted about 1 day before I said screw it (the gpu was louder than the 5 80's on the case and rad) and put it into the water loop.

Is it possible to flash cards from different brands?
I've only heard from flashed connect3d cards!

No fan problems, I had a custom fan profile setup in ati tray tool, went to 100% at anything over 40c, and trust me you could hear it when I was working :)
