games i play are: -
CS 1.6 (99-100fps)
CS:Source(all high default settings 10-30fps in battle and just running around)
BF2 (all low settings 10-30fps everywhere, anywhere)
CoD2 (on dx7 20-80 fps anywhere)
and NFS:Most wanted (dunno :/)
my specs are: -
AMD Sempron 2200+ Overclocked to 2500 (can go to 2600 but dont wanna over do it)

i had the same card in my old system and it does not overclock very well, i would save your pennys and get 6600 gt or 7800 gt, pci-e if you have it. i have the bfg 6600 128mb ddr3 pci-e
it comes out of the box overclocked.and for the price you cant go wrong.$199.99can at futureshop. i play bf2 on full settings and plays very well, 40-50 fps average. i broke 60,000 in aquamark 3 today was very impressed.

like i said, i dont wish to upgrade my agp atm..
all i want to do is overclock it and get the best out of it

might aswell leave it unclocked and keep it cooler :/

i read you were only getting 10-30 fps on low settings, i think the game needs atleast 50-60 too even play a good game, i run on full and get 50-60 fps.the 9600 is a pretty old card, that is why i upgraded mine, just so i can play bf2, but still suck at it...lol well i dont play enough i guess couple hours aday.
what are your temps when you over clock it?

The performance difference between the two cards wont deviate that much. Both cards are well over three years old!
I found it strange that you were getting crappy scores with your old 9600se in 3D marks as you should get just under 10000. With my old 9600 pro I got 12000 so if you get scores well under that I would be worried.
What socket is your motherboard
Semprons are good, I use one:). However AMD prices are soo cheap these days, you would probably see a much bigger performance jump if you upgraded to an Athlon than switching graphics cards.
if your socket 754 I recommend an Athlon 64 3200+ minimum
if your socket AM2 I recommend an Athlon 64 X2 4200+ minimum
read my system specs under my avatar.now i have a club3d 9600 400 core 200x2 ramdac default values..amd you got 12000 probably cuz your sistem was better tham mine :)
