Downloading to XP Problems

I have a HP Pavilion dv2988se Special Edition that came with Vista and my friend wanted me to downgrade it for him. It couldn't find the harddrive so I had to slipstream a driver into the XP disk and I have XP all done and installed, but Everest 2.20 is not showing what the hardware I have is so I don't know what drivers to look for. I have no video, audio or network drivers. I think when I ran Everest it said something about the ICH8?

Edit: I haven't slept in 40 or so hours, meant to make title Downgrading lol

I saw those drivers, they don't really do anything. CPU-Z says the following...

Manufacturer: Wistron
Model: 30CD 80.52
Chipset GM965
Southbridge: 82801HBM (ICH8-ME)

So how does this help me find drivers? I got a video driver working, now I need network, wireless network, audio.

Does the WWAN driver not work for your wireless connection.

Or try and update them through Device Manager.

Belarc Advisor is a nifty tool that can gain your system information.

as for the downgrade, format and reinstall. Might be a massive conflict going on.

The internet works now, yay. All I need left is audio and wireless internet drivers. You guys have been so helpful so far.

Many thanks again, the wireless internet works now. But the sound didn't. When I run the setup it says Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for this driver.

I have a number of things in "Other Devices" with yellow question marks, Base System Device is listed 3 separate times, PCI Device, SM Bus Controller, Unknown Device

can you not find out what motherboard you have then download the audio drivers from the makers site?

Did you try right clicking and updating the driver for these?

Yes I did, for all 6 of them it says Cannot Install this Hardware, even when I let it search online for drivers.

No dice, I did as that guy did and it didn't work. Thank you for trying though. This is frustrating since its the last thing I need to get working.

Install driver scanner and it will tell what drivers you need with an option to download them.

After installing the card reader, there are now only 2 yellow !/?'s under Other devices. SM Bus Controller and Unknown device. Under Sound, video and games catagory, there is a PCI Device, with a yellow exclamation mark. When I click properties, under device status it says The drivers for this device are not installed.
