Hey all,
I have an old computer about 4 years old that hasn't been booted up in about 6 months. The reason I stopped using the computer was due to the fact that when you shut it down (via Windows) and then turn it back on again, the computer goes into the blue screen that says internal error. I keep getting this blue screen so I re-install Windows and it works good for a few weeks and the same thing happens. So I was curious if anyone has had this happen to them before and was wondering what it is? I think it might be the HD being corrupt, but am not sure? Thnaks for your help

I would visit seagate.com and download seatools, or samsunghdd.com and find hutil, or visit the site that applies to your hdd manufacturer and then run the long or thorough test to be sure.

Or try another hdd if you have one handy.

Also I would run memtest86+ to test RAM, and if you can get windows running for a short stint try something like prime95 to test your cpu stability.

To make it easier, if I just get a new Hard Drive, would that help solve it then? The hard drive is old and small so might as well upgrade it then.
