View Full Version : VGA Silencer Rev.3 fan working in reverse?
I just got a VGA Silencer Rev.3 for my ATI 9800Pro. It installed without problem but when turned on the fan turns in such a way that it sucks in cool air form outside and blows it into the case, versus it exhausting the warm air outside like it says on the box. Did I do something wrong??

That's very strange, did you splice a connector or somehow put it in backwards on the card header?
One thing to note is the ATI silencers create a lot of turbulence (if you visit arctic-cooling.com this is by design apparrently) so it quite often feels like they are blowing into the case when in fact they are not. Still it shouldn't feel like it's sucking in from the vent side.
Ok I just checked mine and the fan spins clockwise and from looking here: http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga1.php they should all spin the same way, so hopefully yours is spinning clockwise.
