Harddrive problem

Hi. Just now while browsing files on my 160gb SATA hdd the folder suddenly closed and my hdd dissapeared. The only place it shows up in is in computer management and it nows says it is unallocated. All i can do is goto properties or partition it. So what the hell is wrong? Is it broke and all my data gone? Or is there a way to fix this? thanks.

Edit: ok i found the problem, for some strange reason my partition automatically dissapeared. I downloaded 'testdrive' found the missing partition and recovered it. Phew!
