X800GTO2 Problem

Hi, im new here, thought id say hi and a happy new year to all !

Now to whats wrong...

Just recieved an x800gto2 the flash to x850xt was successful confirmed by ati tool showing 16 pipelines and an r480 core. Just to note this is the vivo version with dual dvi ports which ive heard is the new batch.

Now the problem is, my friend has a x800gto2 but the non vivo version which my friend has, overlclocks to 567/610 and mine is default at 400/490 and wont clock past 425/475. I definitely know its not a power supply problem as ive tried it on my friends computer and it reacts the same; the monitor state changes to no input signal after about 10 seconds of overclocking it on ati tool. The card also doesnt overheat, i havent seen it higher than 57 celcius. And the computer remains on during this and wont do anything until you restart.

Anyone had similar problems, heard of similar problems ? Or better still anyone know why mine wont even clock to xt speeds (520/540) ??

just to note, i have falshed back to my old bios and its reading 16 pipelines on ati tool !!! i think this new batch is unlocked ! im going to try and overclock, wish me luck.

iv heard the new batches cant unlock eh? also why wouldnt you look at ati tool before you flashed? lol

well its sapphire gto2 so its meant to be 100% the flash to x850 was sucessful but i couldnt overclock as mentioned, probably becuase the bios for the x850 werent vivo or sumthing like tht. I dunno why i didnt check ati tool lol i just rushed into it for some unknown reason :laugh:

If this is any help ive just installed catalyst 5.13 over 5.8 wich came with the cd and the chipset info is showin an x800xl with 400 mhz ramdacs and the graphics card as an x800 series.

Ive just reformatted again *sigh* for the 4th time, installed everything that came on the cd, so cat 5.8 and trixx overclocking utility and set out to find max mem and max core, to my surprise the mem was stable at a 540mhz overclock but unfortunately the core wont budge past 400mhz *sobs*

I will update the catalysts to 5.13 and post back after re trying the max mem and core.
