Just a couple questions... im sorry if they were already answered.

1.) My card can't be unlocked to 16 pipelines due to the fuse check with ATItool. But, what are the advantages of flashing the bios of my Connect3d Radeon x800 gto to a better cards bios?

2.) How save is it to overclock the radeon x800gto? I have had bad experience with overclocking my sapphire 9600xt. I figure I dont worry about overclocking until I really need to.

1) If your card is 100% stable at a given overclock you can flash a BIOS with those clock speeds instead of the defaults and it will save you opening ATITool and overclocking your card every time you start your computer.

2) It will be a little bit safer, if you look here: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/ the 9600XT contains the RV360 and is the fastest clocked RV360 based board you can buy. In other words this is probably very near the limit of the RV360 and you probably won't get much of an OC out of it. On the other hand your X800GTO is (probably) using an R480 at 400MHz and the R480 is clocked as high as 540MHz from the factory on the X850XT-PE so you are way farther from that chip's clock ceiling. The only thing to beware is that you may have that R480 on your card because it didn't clock to 540 and as a result they couldn't use it on the more expensive card. But it's worth a shot.

Thanks. I should just probably run the tests longer huh? I did a little bit of overclocking my x800 which is a R423 core and I got it up to 525/525 and ran stable. Couldn't see any artifacts either, but I started seeing the gpu get up towards 70c. I will just stress test with rthdribl.

Thanks for the reply :)
