Man, I spent most of a weekend rerunning restore points on my machine trying to figure what why IE and MS Office products wouldn't start up. By happenstance, I noticed that they would work fine and took stock what was loaded. Sure enough, if I launched ATI Tool, IE and MS Word, for instance, would not load.
Why or how come this tool is preventing from them launching? This is a new computer and I have all latest virus scan software, spybot, adware, MS antispyware, etc. All ran and found nothing.
Thanks,

Hi,
It seems the fan control by GPU temp not working exactly for others.
I have this problem too.
It works one time but now when a load or apply the fan control by temperaure GPU (above 0°C 30%, aboce 40°C > 100%, etc...) doesn't work at all.
But the other control fan work for me. So il have create 2 profil for normal use at 30% and for game at 100%.
An other point, with asus smart doctor, i had the ram temperature too but it seems the environement temp in ati tool is not this temperature (alway stable to 50°C, very hot in comparaison the 32°C of my GPU in normal use)
My config: asus x800xl + ati silencer 5 rev 2
Good work for this tool better than smartdoctor for cpu, ram and stability for sure!

I'm using 0.24 and yes, turning off 3d detection helps...interesting.
What's going on there?

Tx a lot, i didn't see the tweak 3d detection.
So now, there is no problem at all for me.
2 profile and the game profile loaded when i play game automatically!
as it, i don't forget to change the fan speed as the last time!!
fabulous ! (with a little sound for the loaded profil is the cherry on cake!)

I have the same IE, Outlook Express, and Windows Media Problem. So turning on the 3D detection is the reason, hmm. Is there a way to get around this, because I like this feature? Thanks.

The problem with the Beta is the default fan setting is 10% instead of 19% in .24. If you're using Fan control to try to keep you VPU at a certain temp, it will raise it to that temp (70C in my case). I don't want my VPU to run that hot. That extra 9% keeps me in the 40's.
A request would be if you could use fan control to set at a certain idle temp. (say 45C) and load temp (say 70C).
Thanks!

Does it fix both the fan and MS Application problems?
