Help downclocking ASUS x700 (mobile)

I've just bought a new notebook from ASUS (model M6786VAUP) and where suprised over the loud fan noise. When running on batteries the fan is silent though.
I'm new to overclocking/downclocking and wondering if there is anyway I can downgrade performance and/or turn down the fan speed when running on AC? Is ATI tool compatible with my graphic card? I'll appreciate any answer! Thanks!

latest atitool beta should work with your card, but there is no way to control settings based on power profile. this might be something that could be added in the future.
