Well i can't seem to get artifact free in this release neither with the beta 4 release.

After that my screen went p00f, full with artifacts!!

Running @ x800pro @ XT clockspeed 540 x 560 stable with 0.22 rls.
Driver ATI 8.07 Beta, Omega Driver with 8.07 beta.
I will have to test if this issue also go's for 4.9 drivers.

W1zzard is there a way for u too program the AAM function to detect Hardisks running under a Raid 0 set and modify there AAM pref?

Now my AAM also went Missing.. No drives dectected any more after reboot in beta 5.

got 2 Raid controllers in it, 1 Via SATA @ Raid 0 1 promise SATA @ Raid 0. 1 boot partition @ ide.
None detected, Beta 4 the are detected. :D 1,4 terra storage :rolleyes:

Nice...Hardware Monitor..
But when i open it, my CPU Usage goes up to over 90%...and the HwMonitor works very slow...

I dont have the same problem, But i notice when i run HWM my harddrives start Ticking.. Any body else who got that same problem?

found the aam problem .. if you go to hardware monitoring before going to aam, hardware monitoring takes exclusive use of the physical hdd and never gives it back, so aam fails ... fix is to go to the aam page by pulling down the menu and clicking aam instead of scrolling to it.. working on fix

ok .. i updated the file in the first post .. now both monitoring and aam works at the same time .. 100% cpu issue on hwm page might also be fixed

Err, I don't mean to sound ungrateful or rude but I think you should focus on what ATITool is originally intended to be: the best overclocking tool for ATI video cards. I think that HDD acoustic management is 1) outside the scope of this program, and 2) a useless gimmick. The automatic identification of a card's overclocking limit is, by contrast, still an incredibly ingenious and useful feature that no one else has even tried to imitate (to my knowledge). What I mean is that priority should be given to fixing the unreliable "find max core/mem" function on x800 cards, especially considering the rapidly increasing number of x800 users.

I hope I didn't offend you, W1zzard. This is just an honest opinion from someone who has been using your program since its first public version way back on hardforum.com.

lajos: i completely understand your concerns .. dont worry, i will continue to work on improving x800 scanning. it's just that i needed a program to change my aam from windows a few days ago and couldnt find one ..

yeah man i always disable temporal AA but it always seems to say that i need to disable everytime i open atitool. not really sure why. kinda weird.

@420KILLA: Hmm I have the same problem since Omega 4.11 Beta, you also have that installed allready (or the plain 4.11 Beta)?

No problems with Artifacttesting though.

Keep up the good work Wizzard. Even if you want to make the complete window purple with green text and add all sorts of functionality no one needs, then I find it no problem. ATITool may not be perfect, but even at it's current state, there is no program that even comes remotely near to what ATITool can do.

jeronimo: it's just that i like to play with stuff and aam was such a thing as is hardware monitoring .. after some time beating on the same problem (x800 artifact scanning) for a long time without much success gets annoying

What has the monitoring.ini too do with detecting drives under raid?! Im not talking about HWM.
AAM only displays Raid 0 and does not enable AAM function for the drives under it.

Hmm, once AT detects a artifact it keeps detecting them until i restart the program.
Prob still because of the x800 isue.

Got a really ugly blue screen relating to ATITool with the most recent version. Said something like DRIVERUNLOADING not properly. I was at the hardwaretab selecting the mobo, nearest to mine (P4P800, I have P4P800S).

Another point, why give mentioning of TAA enabled (I do not have it enabled, mbut maybe ATI AI triggers it), when AA is disabled? I asume you can detect both, so skip the message if AA is disabled.

I also do not agree with TemporalAAMultiplier > 0. It should be 1, because 1 is normal AA and is the minimum setting as far as I know. Maybe you know the drivers a bit better, but as far as I know 1 is the normal setting.

With the Omega 4.11 beta TemporalAAMultiplier and AntiAlias is written as REG_BINARY 31 00 (31 is hex for 1). If I enable AA, then AntiAlias becomes 32 00. This is with RadLinker can anyone verify this with the normal 4.11 Beta from the ATI control panel?

Another thing that doesn't seem to work: fan control !
Putting my hand on the fan et setting it to 10%, it blows as if it was set to 100% :eek: .
Even if I put it down to 0%, it doesn't stop...
My video card:
Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600 XT 256Mo.
Hoping this will be fixed, because it is a very interessant option!

Every time i use the ati tool no matter what version, after i use it, no matter if it's running or not running, with default speeds or higher speeds, i hibernate the computer and all looks fine but when u power it back on windows loads and then the screen goes black when it should display the desktop and the monitor light gets orange and stays like this no matter what you do, i allways need to reset. :( If i don't use the ati tool, the hibernation works fine.
I tried with other drivers versions and this still happens.

I tried your links, but I only found that my card must have a little chip to monitor temperature and control fan speed. I think I have this little chip, because I can monitor the temperature (which I suppose is right). But I didn't find how to MOD my card...

I thought it was me, but I have encountered this too. Never thought it was ATITool. I will need to do some tests to verify it, when I have the time.

According to Wizzard RaBitT is at fault.

The correct values are working...only diplayed wrong...may not Rabit is wrong ?? Dont think that rabit is wrong...reads out directly from Bios Files...I think its very important to clear this 100% !! :(

ATI Tool is specially for ATI cards....but it sure do the artifact testing job better than any other software............so i think i can post bugs when using non-ATI cards. With FX 5900, ATI Tools sometimes run............but after 2-3 minutes of closing the program, system restars..........even sometimes pc restars instantly when clicking ATI Tool icon from desktop or start menu. After the system restars.......windows shows that it recovered from a serious error......

Even if I restart windows just after closing ATI Tool, it still shows the "Windows recovered from a serious error" error report.

Any idea why this happens?

I've a Prob with my x800proVivo@XT with Artifact Scan..nothing new..i know..
Normally with 100% rockstable Clock of 520_560 (apps ,Games..), i get now a Error with ArtifatcS. After e few minutes a got a black Screen...not a Scrennsaver..a freeze!
Normally it works with AtiTool too...at this clockspeeds..not a question of Card Stability!

With AtiTrayTools and his Artifact Scan everything is fine ...no Prob! Also over Night MotherNature Loop (3dm03 and 05)

Dont know why....may 8.07b Driver ?? dont think so..

well i use AtiTool .23 beta 5 with my x800 pro from ATI and i use the newest omega drivers which came out on 10-02-04......and i seem to get a stable overclock with no artifacts ever at 519 for the core and 531 for the memory......and im sure i could even go higher with it but i decided to keep it at these clock speeds because it has been so stable with no problems.......Once Again thanks Wizzard and I appreciate the work you do for all of us!!!! Keep up the good work......and keep the new added features coming.

P.S. when i do hardware monitoring...it takes up 100% on the CPU usage.....i dont know if this is normal or not...also on my voltage everyone of them reads 255.00 V also all my fan speeds show an RPM of 255.....which seems odd to me......any help would be appreciated wizzard....Thank You

But it happens with ati original drivers too... as long as you run Ati tool...
Even with ati tool closed the computer won't wake up from hibernation after you use it.

By the way, never had the chance to say it, you are huge men, great work with this program!

what about my question about a black screen with artifact scan on my x800...on
normally 100% rockstable clockspeeds?...after few minutes got this blackscreen..no Scrennsaver or Powersave mode..it's a freeze...(Temps allright...) Theres no Reason for this!
AtiTrayTools ArtifactScan is allright running for hours with this clockspeeds..AtiTool normally too.... Not a question of the Card..Temps everything fine. Apps Games ,MotherNature "overNightLoop" on max Settings...stable!
Must be the Problem with A.Scanning and x800 Cards..but why i get this not in the past..never Mind, AtiTrayTools workingfine..

And HardwareMonitoring..i got few wrong values (everything 255)..and the 100% Cpu usage..
