What do you think of my system?

So I thought I would state my system, what do you guys reckon?
wheres the room for improvement:

Motherboard: Lanparty 925x-t2

Graphics: Saphirre Radeon, x800 gto2, unlocked with 16 pipelines

RAM: Paired Kingston 2 x 512

CPU: P4, 3.2 Ghz, with Zalman cooling system, 9500 series fan.

PSU: Hiper R Series (blue mirror shine finish, forgot model number!)

IDE Components:
DVD Writer, HL Electronics 40 speed
DVD Rom, Sony 40 Speed

Case: A Top X Blade, Black with Blue LEDs, incorporating 3 case fans, 1x12cm, and 2x8 cm

HDD: SATA HDD, 160 gig, maxtor, 7200 RPM.

um lets see...that whole motherboard/proccessor could use a switch to AMD ( :p jk)
anyways, I think that you have a very nice system, if you want to improve anything, try getting a more reliable HD (I havent heard good things about maxtors, unfortunately), getting an aftermarket cooler for your GPU, or gettting some more memory. Then...OVERCLOCK!!! (if your system can handle it, how hot does your CPU get now?)

round 25 degrees, as a standard..next computer I do build I think I will go for a better motherboard, seen a v nice Asus actually, but is it true what they Say, AMD Athlon 64 XP, better than Intel P4, 3.4 ghz?

Depends on which AMD Athlon 64 you get. You would be nuts to say that the lowest end Athlon 64 can beat a 3.4GHz Intel. There is a point along the line where they do begin to pull ahead though.

there are a lot of nice things to say, lets jsut say ive had the opporunity to staywith intel or goto amd and i stayed with intel 4 P4 systems strong. I liek your systems, but your mobo, man i wish they had released the 925XE-TV2 that was one hell of a motherboard. Your processor is nice, i got a 540j, but i liek my 561 scince it does 4.5 on air easily. Your HS is nice, its one of my favorite too. DI sayt he only problems i could forsee would be your psu because i never really took a liking to hyper, and also your HD, i found htat after i used my raptor, even my 300 gig with 16mb cache seemed really laggish.

ohhh so you're thinking of upgrading motherboard? and yes, its true what they say Athlon XP 3200+ = P4 3.2Ghz. however, in case this confuses you, it DOES carry over into the new series too...I can pull up benchmarks that will tell you A64 Venice (s939) 3200+ > or = P4 3.2 Ghz. umm...go with a nice high-end board if you're going to make the move to AMD. you say you already have PCIe x16, so there should be no worries getting a $100 Nforce4/Xpress 200 board. Try not to stray too far from these companies...Asus, BFG, DFI, Gigabyte, or MSI. Also remember this...Asus owns Asrock, so Asrock boards are REALLY good, and if you see any motherboard manufactured by VGA companies that you recognize (like Sapphire), they probably make good boards.

The main question is do you need to upgrade, why waste money if your computer can do all you need to do, thats what i always say to myself before even considering upgrading. btw love your psu to bad they aint world wide =(

Cheers fellas..I just about checked my email to a horde of replies..its good advice this website! From what I have been told, my Intel 3.2GHZ, im not sure how much cache, I think most likely 2MB, is quite good for what it is, but in comparison, what do AMD offer? And what else would they offer for a little more money? I mean I probably willing to spend up to £150, thats about $225 for your guys in the US, but only if I were to get some significant better performance out of it. My case registers the temp at around 35 degrees c, but I know for a fact that its temp is around 25-28 degrees, the sensor I have tht registers the temperature from the case is almost like a thermal sensor at the end of a wire going up to an LED display at the front of the case..(unless Im wrong)

moving on to the motherboard..I have to agree there isn't really anything wrong with it IMHO, I mean it does the job, it has plenty of new features on there, and runs like a charm? But saying that my HDD (a seagate 160 Gig) seems to have failed twice in bootup, but I have just resseted the darn machine and it then recognises it and boots up XP..Im thinking of switching to a maxtor 300 gig, 16MB cache, which I saw on Ebuyer..
alongside these boot up issues I have had a few blue screens as well, the dreaded blue screen of death, I think (and I hope) has to do with the 5.1 sound card I recently installed, for which a recent driver wasn't installed, so literally last night I updated the driver and am going to see if that has solved my problem..because as far as I can remember, there weren't blue screens before I installed it, and if this isn't it I think it might be the HDD, because it might be a lil dodgy, could the HD lead to blue screens?

I don't think in any case I will look to upgrade my motherboard, I might give AMD a chance in a year or so, maybe by then AMD will have significantly improved against Intel and I will buy a good AMD chip, (do they still overheat like crazy?)..but I think the motherboard I have really compared to the crappy one I had before, will last me for all my gaming needs!

lol and lastly the PSU rocks!! It's such a nice design, and runs absolutely impeccably! For those who are wondering, I would definately reccomend this to those who want a good PSU, the other thing about it, it makes case modding a dream, the wires are already tied up, and the easy socket attachment make everything bout the PSU really easy and good for case modding..it also has an intake fan sucking hot air from your mainboard..v v nice!
