hey guys,

Here we go again a new thread for X1900 series. A while back when the x1800 series were out i've made a thread for x1800 series and it was sticky and it really helped other ppl to understand the reality of those cards. So now i hope this thread will be also sticky and help us all to see how good those cards. So far the x1900 series are the best GPU cards IN WORLD. But up to now we havnt seen any overclocking results, scores and temps. Btw i would like to thank ATI for lunching this card not cuz its the best card, no!! but for going back into the WAR with Nvidia lol so take that Nvidia;). Anyways, please if u r an owner of x1900 series please post ur results, cuz this time it will be happier thread than the other one.

Thanks.

My x1900xt does 690/1600 max in overdrive...

I havnt really found anything else thats not all buggy.

I am not going to risk borking the card, until its all sorted out.

Meh I dont see the reason to OC the best card out there, why risk it? I mean its not like its going to be struggling with anything for awhile.

all the reviews i have read tend to suggest there aint much headroom for the core and plenty for the memory.. i wonder if the same thing is gonna happen to gpus as cpus.. having hit the heat barrier (cant go any faster without cooking) a move to more than one gpu on the same board will happen.. i hope so cos multiple cards is for the fairies..

ati also say the maximum current draw for one of these cards is something like 175 watts.. thats if software starts making full use of all those shaders.. he he he

The future. Thats where these cards are for. I have some interesting info on 3Dmark06, and ATI's lower scores, as soon as I get through reading and understanding. Lack of brancing, ultra-threading processor support, and using software against hardware forced AA, and AF.

Who cares about the core or memory..... as long as its performing betta than Nvidias latest vid card then thats all wat we need to hear, all reviews showed their results 3dmark , aq3 , superpi etc...... ati ftw lol.

i never knew the ati card lost out in 2006 stevo.. but for the future the ati card will win out in shader heavy games the nvidia one perhaps in pure pixel pushing abilities.. different games might get written for different cards..

i dont like 2006 as a comparison benchmark i still think 2005 is the one that matters..

I havnt read any review so far about comparing 7800 series with x1900 series in 2006 bench. Can u give us a link, and yes u r rite TROG.

Based on known good performance you only get about 16% performance benefit from it in 3Dmark06. Known good figures for a system like mine and many other indicate that the Nvidia cards outperform in this application.

This is due to two factors.

1) Lack of dynamic branching found in 3Dmark06 = more pixel pipes =greater score as pixels aren't multi-pass rendered.
2) 16 bit precision found in certain Nvidia algorythims for AA, AF, HDR against ATI's 24bit.

Thereby we are not comparing apples to apples. A 97FPS benchmark at 1600X1200 6X-16X in lost coast against a SLI setup getting 86FPS at the same resolution and 6X-12X* is a fair comparison.

* Note that 12X AF is the highest supported in Nvidias current lineup. A friends 7800GT's tested.
