hi i just put together a new system and i'm having a bit of a problem. for what ever reason whenever i load the drivers for my vid card either softmod or original the drivers constantly crash. but it onlyt happens on resolotions past 800x600. now i can rule out the os or software 'cause i ve reinstalled the system 3 times with 2 diff os and it's the same thing.
here are the spec's
2 x opteron 246
1gb ram reg ecc
msi k8t master2 far7 (with latest bios)
powercolor radeon 9550 256mb
2 x 80 gb seagate sata (raid 0)
600w eps power supply
os so far tried xp64 and win2k
any ideas ?
p.s oh yeah when i set the resolution to 1024x768 windows starts to boot fine but then as it gets to the desktop the monitors goes to sleep for a couple of secs then come back and everything is slow as if the vid drivers weren't loaded anything above that resolution doesn't work
