Hey all,

For the past 12 months I use a radeon 9800 SE (128mb RAM).
But since the beginning I have experienced artifacts which I solve using atitool ofcourse.

Now, my system is going crazy. My screen can just freeze (and I hear bios 'beep' sounds when pressing mouse bttn). Then I get the 'report bug' screen from ati.

I just bought a Geforce 6200 with 512mb RAM which was for sale at EUR 129,00.
I have searched the net for graphs wich shows the performance of my ati vs my new geforce. But I don't find any articles about this matter. So my question is:
did I make a good choice at bying the geforce 6200 compared with the 9800 SE I have mass problems with..

What are my options? Are there maybe any good tricks I can do with 2 video cards?
Should I just install my geforce and keep my ati aside. Or should I make work to repare/improve my ati??

Thx a bunch

being the proud owner of a 9800SE, I'd love to help! I didnt have any artifacts, but I realized that my cards performance SUCKED. So I downloaded the softmod. Got a few artifacts, used ATItool to clock the card down a bit. Aquired the Arctic Cooling VGA silencer, all artifacts dissapear. I do a little clock meddling, and I have a rock solid 8 pipe card at 375/300, from a stock of 4 pipe 378/290. now all I have to do is buy some VGA RAMsinks, and I will be ARTIFACT FREE. The moral of this story? buy an aftermarket cooler and go nuts! I suggest the VGA silencer from Arctic Cooling, along with some copper memory heatsinks. happy gaming!

Well, the thing is I don't know anything about modding v.cards.
By soft-mod you'll probally reffering to the omega drivers right??
I've downloaded that some time ago, but the artifacts got worse.
Artifacts and dots (unlike the clipping textures 'artifacts' I have without the omega drivers.

lol by softmod, I mean the drivers offered here... http://softmod.techpowerup.com/ thanks techpowerup! Unfortunately, my 9800 decided that it's time to retire, so I'm getting an X850XT. Softmods are fun, but having a nice solid card with no need for OCing is nice.

if your 9800SE was 256bit you did a terrible mistake byuing that 6200...i would have tryied to make it work again.

lol no, it was 128 bit, and it wasn't coming out of retirement...Windows couldnt detect my card, even though my card showed signs of being "on" (core heats up, mem heats up...THAT kinda stuff). and I'm not getting a 6200 any time soon, I already ordered a X850 :D
