hey guys, i'm pretty new to all this stuff....

i bought a 128mb sapphire 9800pro recently, and decided i'd have a look at ati tool... It's got standard cooling at the moment, soon to be replaced with a arctic cooling vga silencer.

anyway, i looked at the ati site, and they claim the specs of the card to be as follows:

Engine Clock (MHz) 380
Memory Clock (MHz) 680

however, when i start up ati tool, i have these values:

core: 378
memory: 337.5

now i know the core is only 2mhz out, which is not my issue, the memory seems to be waaaaay off base.... why would this be? i tried overclockign it, and it only gets to about 372 or so before ati tool starts detecting errors.

am i just being stupid (don't be afraid to say it, like i said i'm new to all this) or have i got a problem?

cheers

No, they're fine.. It's how they work. they only put 380/340 because it's simpler than 378/337.5

Its DDR ram, so you multiply it by 2
