I have sapphire radeon 9800 se 128 bit 128 mb ram.I activated all 8 pixelpipelines, but I am not pleased with this performance 4200 3d score on 3d mark 2003 and 2200 on 3d mark 2005. The card works by default at 378 core and 290 mem.it is with the stock cooling, the temperature in the case is about 30 C.Can anyone tell me how much has he OCed such card?

I agree, those scores are usual for a 9800, perhaps you could just try using ATITool to overclock a little more?

Dude, I did that softmod too. Listen to me VERY CAREFULLY. GET A HUGE AFTERMARKET COOLER. Case temps indicate almost nothing of card temps...I thought I was doing fine with my 9800se to 9800pro mod...until I started getting random checker patterns on the POST screen. I could never get a reliable result no matter what I did, so now my cards retired, and I'm waiting on an X850 while running a 3DFX Voodoo Banshee. I replaced the cooler about a month ago with the VGA silencer (rev.3) and was running smoothly. So the moral of my story is, before you shorten your cards operational life, get an aftermarket cooler. My 9800 "pro" lasted me 6 months before retiring in a case with a huge exhaust fan with the high CFM's. Anyways...you're lucky. my 9800 "pro" got about 1900 in 3Dmark05
one more thing...just because ATItool doesnt tell you there arent any artifacts doesnt mean your card's not overheating. I was at 380/300 with the VGA silencer/copper RAMsinks, and little to know artifact/some glitches. With the stock cooling system, I was at 370/324 with more then my fair share of artifacts. those little yellow dots? those lights not rendering quite correctly? yeah...that means your cards overheating. and if you're cards overheating, its not going to work as long as you want it to.

i turned the core down by 3 mhz, now it is 375 and it is cooler now.I only wonder why the core heats so much at stock speed(sometimes it shows artifacts ot ati tool). Now I can only rase the memory from 290 to 302 Mhz :(( ,I expected better results, but may be not with sapphire radeon 9800 se.Anyway ,are there any ideas how to cool down this card without making any phisical changes to the board?

"but may be not with sapphire radeon 9800 se"
not much point in trying.. the card is "yesterday" and crippled yesterday at that.. time to move on..
