Hi Everyone. New to posting on these forums but have been a frequent guest for 3 months. Anywho I Have a Compaq Sr1650NX comp with a crap Asus A8ae-LE Mobo. I was short on cash and needed a new system quick. Well the OC bug bit me hard and i knew it was impossible to OC my proc through the bios so i googled some OC software and came up with ClockGen. After about 15 minutes of tinkering i raised my Athlon 64 3500+ (venice) from 2.2GHZ to 2.52 GHZ with stock HS+F.

I thought this was impossible considering i'm on a Compaq here but Benchmarks and CPU-Z confirm my speed increase. The temp's have raised only 2C and i believe i could raise the speed even higher to 2.6 but i can't go any higher with ClockGen. The point of this thread is if your running on some crap like I am with this compaq and that OC Bug bites give ClockGen a try. Peace

Good thinking. Just gave me an idea of what to do with that junky dell that has lots of headroom. May I suggest systool that is available from techpowerup too, its a very versitile program. It can change clocks and memory timings & comes with built in stress tools. Its in alpha testing so expect it to be a bit buggy.

Are you sure your idle temps raised 2c or is that how much your load temps raised, look into that!! Also nice OC for that comp, how the ram holding up, a mem test would not hurt just in case.

Thanks for the input guys. I tried to use Systool but every time i try to open it i get errors from windows. I checked my temps and my idle raised 2C and load temps raised 4-5C depending on how hard the CPU's working. Ran stress tests on CPU, Motherboard, Memory and everything is holding fine, Just faster! Thanks for the input.
