well my mom has a 16ms lcd and i cant notice the delay at that speed. when u think about it your eyes only recive about 30-35 fps so anything faster then that we cant see. with a 12 or 16 you may see it once in a while but not al the time. i would still stick with a crt unless you need the space(better image quality)

i have an lcd and wouldnt go back.. crts are dead.. yesterdays technology.. the delay thing isnt about what the eye can see.. its about how quickly the pixels can switch on and off.. lit to unlit so to speak.. too slow and u see ghosting when the screen updates quickly..

most cheaper lcd tn panels are fast enough for gaming.. its the more expensive ones they can have problems with responce wise..

horses for course with gamers winning out price wise.. folks who want wider viewing angles and such pay more money

i personally have an anchient 21" NEC (built in march of '91) and i still wouldnt trade it for my moms 19" lcd unless i was going to a lan. the thing weighs like 90 pounds. although i would have to say that i like the image quality a hellava lot more on this beast.

This Christmas I upgraded from a 5 year old 15" HP CRT to a 17" Sony LCD. The response time is either 12ms or 16ms. I have not had ghosting in any games and I have played FEAR, Doom 3, CS:S, CS 1.6, GUN, etc. Just make sure not to get a wireless mouse and keyboard lol. I def. suggesting getting one, it saves space, looks really nice and it easier to see everything.

hehe 1600*1200 is awesome. i had an old 17" crt that i unlocked and overclocked (seriously i did) and that thing looked beautiful on games where it was high res and good detail. i think the pixel pitch was like 1/8th of 1024*768 which is what the monitor would let me run with the normal drivers. now my cad teacher has a 23" widescreen at 1940*1200 and that is beautiful. we would play halo during class :D
