I would send it back just to be on the safe side. It could last a lifetime but it could also fail at some random point if something got damaged when the board was bent.

yeah, im gonna have to agree with that as well...
definantly better to be on the safe side if the card is bent through no fault of your own.
could last a lifetime... could just spaz out at any random old time...
why take the chance?

i have my ati x850 apart waiting for a new fan and heatsink once i get that up and running ill give ati a call, the card it self looks pretty wierd, its bent towards the end not around the chip. I wish i had a camara to take a pic but that broke to lol.

I taked to ati's rma dep and the guy was a smart ass, he told me to go online that i was calling them for nothing and all of that good stuff, he told me that if the board was bent and it worked they would not replace it, and i had to correct him and tell him that it was making a high pitched noise also and that i was a computer tech so i knew what i was talking about, either way he offered no help. I called ati.com since i bought from the web site and they did an rma for me i am still pretty surprised that i have to pay for shipping. I'm going to remove the card from my system in a few mins to ship it to ati. Funny thing is my bad luck with ati cards i've owned 4 to be exact out of 4 3 have given me problems, and i get them really cheap from ati.com supposely so i can see how good ati is and recomend it to customers lol well anyways guys i'll keep you posted on what happens, thanks for all the replies and help i really apriciate it.
here is my 9800 pro when it took a dump after 6 months of service never abused or overclocked

lol i coulda told you to go staright to the site for an rma. yeah you have to pay to ship it to them but otherwise theres no fee and they're quite quick, with my x700 pro's I fried two of them and the rma's took under a week and only that long because my shipping to them was slow, they overnighted it back to me.:D

Ati cards seems to be a little bit more fragile than other videocards, I've had a 9800XT die on me and also had a friend of mine whose 9700Pro died too all of the sudden, funny thing is both of us are overclockers, both had our cards fitted with third party coolers (mine had a Tt Giant III and his an Arctic Cooling Ati Silencer) and neither of us have previoulsy had any non-Ati card die before. In both cases the cards just wouldn't work anymore all of the sudden :nutkick: :wtf:

Mine has a switch that broke off of it and it's still working.
I should RMA it sometime soon here though just to be on the safe side.

My 6800 died on me. I doubt ATI cards are more fragile, you just had bad luck. Of course my 9800 died on me too......... so maybe there is something to what you say.
