mines the 256MB DDR2 mem. For some reson my card makes my screen go black when i overclock it to over 560///440?> and i was also wondering if the pad on the core's back is to be taken off?

well that isnt a problem thats just your overclock. those speeds are above 10% so u prolly wont get much better. thats almost a 100mhz on the ram and over 50mhz on the gpu.. so ur doing pretty good.
There is no problem, you have DDR2 memory, canīt get performance of DDR3.

you might be able to squeeze a few mhz more outta the core if you get a better-than-stock cooling solution... but i do believe that that's pretty much the limit when it comes to the memory.

yeah, just use a little isopropyl alcohol and some non-abrasive cloth or one of those commercial TIM removers (akasa TIM remover, or arctic-clean...) and it should come right off.
