hey fellas,

i accidently dislodged a capacitor on my gf6800, it's not totally broken, just one end has lost the connection. is there a possibilty of soldering it and making it work again??

any tips on how to make it work? i really cant afford 200$ for a gphx card rite now as i just spent my balance on upgrading mobo, case, psu and heatsink.

thanks!

if there is visible bit of wire sticking out u can solder it.. if u can read the marking on it u could replace it with a similar one.. if u are useless at soldering get someone else to do it for u.. there is a skill to it..

yes.. scrape the wire bits clean with a sharp pointed blade.. use a small hot clean well tinned iron and whoosh its done..

i dont think so.. u could try reinstalling dx9.. still sounds like a software issue to me..

strangely, the display is showing artifacts randomly. sometimes i cannot boot into windows, sometimes i can, its not temperature related. the artifacts were showing up during the pre-windows loading as well, and now its not. is this problem related to the mobo pci-e slot or the graphics card itself?
