Apple introduces Intel based Mac Mini and iPod Hi-Fi

Apple took the wraps off of two interesting products today, first of all the new Intel Mac Mini, which comes in two flavors. One with a 1.5GHz Core Solo CPU and a Core Duo T2300 model at 1.67GHz. The Core Duo model sells for US$799 and includes a SuperDrive and an 80GB hard drive. The Core Solo unit is US$599 and has a DVD-ROM/CD-RW and 60GB hard drive. Both models now come with built-in 802.11g and Bluetooth support, 4 USB 2.0 ports, gigabit Ethernet, analog and Dolby Digital audio out, DVI video out, two slots for RAM, and 512MB of PC2-5300 DDR RAM (to go with its 667MHz FSB). The weakspot is the integrated Intel's GMA950 graphics processor.
Then there is the iPod Hi-Fi, a rather large docking station for the iPod, featuring a 3 way speaker, powerful enough to be used in a room. The iPod Hi-Fi will cost $359 US Dollars.

I got a Nano, but I'd never spend $359 on speakers just because they work with iPods... I can plug my iPod into my creative speakers anyway - sound quality is probably at least as good when I think that my MP3 are only at a 128 bit rate anyway.

Digital audio is compressed already, MP3's and the like are just awful :/ silly consumers.

this is why i use 320kbps on mp3s.. im prolly gonna get myself a iPod video just so i can watch movies and shit in class. btw there are programs that allow use of many normal music programs to interface with the ipods...u hjust have to get them.
