ATI Tools says I got an error (within 3 mins of scanning for errors) at 520/560 with my X800 flashed using Pro 16Pipe bios at only 65degrees? But it will over clock the core to 570, I stopped because i didnt want to go higer, it was still in the 60 degree range.

Can I use this beta version with omegas newest driver version (8.07)? I've used this program in the past, crazy about the fan control but it had no AI support but I guess it does now. So I am just wondering if it plays nice with omegas?

still having HWM problem w1zzard where alot of my settings show 255 on the fan and voltage readings. was jsut wondering if you could add my motherboard to the list......i use the intel D850EMV2 motherboard.....im guessing thats why i got the incorrect readings because i dont have a motherboard selelcted.....but the only reason why i dont have one selected is because its not listed.....I also still get 100% cpu usage when using HWM. Please help me on this issue. my pic of what my problem is is on page 1 of the .0.0.23 beta 7 thread....thanks

The 8.07=4.11b has AI Feature..you can enable it with new CCC or AtiTrayTool 101.382!

My max core seems to come out exactly the same as in b6 (getting visible artifacts at 584MHz with my x800 Pro, while max mem is about 20MHz lower than b6 (now 554). Temp leveled out at 54C since I have an ATi Silencer 4. Results seems reasonable considering the explanation you gave about how the new algorithm works.
Thanks for the possibility of setting AI, BTW. Never really understood how to do it via the reg myself  and I don't wont to install CCC for that feature alone.

now with b7 ArtifactScan is a little bit better..now my XT-PE Clock seems to be with no detected Artifacts... but even 5-10 mhz lower ...will Test it out!

I still get TAA message. Althourhg I use 4.11 without CCC, I would expect not to get the TAA enabled message.

i wrote above its a better Detection as b7..its not..ist worser....20mhz lost on my X800!
I wrote it 10times and more in b7 Thread! My over month 100% Rockstable Clock is full of heavy Artifacs..i never seen before !
Older Version under 0.23b6 was giving me 100% the right MemClock..the same where i get Artifacts in Apps (motherNature over Night-Loops, Ragtrlol, Ruby, Doom3, several other heavy Stress Tests) and more earlier, where i never had Artifacts before !
Load Temps are 61C the same as with 0.22 and all other Apps and Tests! So its not a loss of Heat with old Rendering Code...

So for me i dont get a real clock with this new rendering Code...
But i only repeat my self...

I ask again Wizzard...on my Vivo@XT i've 1,6ns Ram on the front and 2,0ns backsite!
Was never a Problem before, but maybe the new rendering Code is producing Errors on this ??
mh but i read of User People with heavy los of clock on 0.23b6-8 ,also with X800 Cards..must be somewhat!
I Dont believe the new Code is the only right Way and all other is totally wrong, what was rockstable over Month... :)

acrowley: there were no changes to scanning or artifact detection between b7 and b8, yet you claim its worse

if you have 1.6 ns and 2.0 ns chips the 2.0ns chips play the deciding role in what is your maximum frequency

next version will have a checkbox "use legacy scanning" which uses the old scanning code

Ok between 0.23b7 and b8...may i tested not enough and the Results are the same..

Great..the best what you can do...to add a legacy Rendering Code :) PLEASE RELEASE. :)

Normally i have no Problems with this Ram Chips...max clock is better as with some 1,6ns only Cards..568Mhz! Some new Vivos can only reach 500-520Mhz Mem Clock..

But do you think with new Code there can be earlier Artifacts with 2,0ns Ram as with the "old" Code?
When its true, that could be the Reason for my Problem with Artifact Detection on 0.23b6-b8 !

i think you have most Gigabyte Motherboards added but you forgot about the GA7NNXP motherboard.

ATI Tool crashes by finding max mem/core,
means everything freezes, then systemspeaker beeps by trying to move or click with mouse, what isn´t possible as it is frozen.
After reboot per reset-switch i have to load again A.T. manually, and it shows the last
"highest stable frequency before crashing up".
Or ATI Tool gets closed.

Will give it one more try later the day, and give report if it still is the same.

I have read people complaining about how there mobo isnt listed, maybe what u should do it just add all the mobos that are in MBM and ull be set with everything! And maybe there is a file in mbm which has all of these, i know when i installed it it went on the net and downloaded an "updated" list..maybe u could use that and somehow add it to ur prog? i think that would be the best solution.

btw: nice prog, iv been using ati tool for a very long time now, very nice peace of work. i have an ati radion 9100 128mb (250/250) and i can go to 300/270, is that a good oc?

and i read on the other thread that u had added a "background" to the scanning thing. maybe u should think about having one in the official release? the fuzz qube gets boring after a while \\ :P

PS, keep up the good work :D

Hi w1zzard,

I have a sapphire x800 vivo 1.6ns (16pipes softmod + original bios) and ATI Tool has been working well.
1st time I used it was v0.21 and it found my max perfectly (540/570).

Since then, i'm always running my games at 535/565 and it's been always working smooth (with cath 4.7 and 4.9).

But now I tried your new beta (along with the new algo. and 4.9) and here's the diff. with the other versions :
- scanning for artifacts gives me the same result with the core
- not the same for memory : I have to lower it at 550 (core to default when testing)
- temps are about the same
- didn't tried the memory timings, i'll wait till you find why your values differ from RABIT

... I'd like to try that 500_500 XT Connect3D bios ... when I'll have the time ...
-->> did someone tried with Sapphire blue card ??

hope this is usefull for you !!

read my posts on sites before in this Thread...same Prob here with x800proVivo@XT ...with new beta (all above 0.23b6)! Also other People reported this too!

With 0.22 i get 100% my real max MEM Clock of 568!
But with new beta 0.23b6-8 i get 10-20 Mhz lower clock!
But i know my max stable Mem Clock 100% sure Tested it out very sensible over Weeks!! So its the Scanning what is wrong on new beta and not my clock.. ;)
Its the new Rendering Code of Artifact Scan. With this we get Errors may on some X800 Cards!
Wizzard will Release the next Version with a " use legacy Scan Mode Option" with the old Code...With this it works fine on our Cards... :)

Rabit1.5 "wrong " Mem Timings Values : There a new Rabit 1.6 Release that fix this Error ..now all is the same and correct with Rabit!

XT500_500 Bios...for me the best Bios of all! works 100% stable on a Vivo Cards..also with Sapphire Card (all the same)..Also User report a much better Core OCing! I get 15Mhz more Core Clock with XT500_500 Bios. Fact!

BongMong

Actually, my card runs fine with the 500/500 bios now, no artifacts in this version, mind you I have all 1.6ns ram.

Only issue, with a good clean reinstall of the drivers and ATi tool, the CatAI feature remains greyed out. I am running the beta hotfix drivers since I have 256meg, could this be the issue? Can I check the registry entry for AI manually? If so, what key is it? I've never installed the CCC and don't intend to until the next revision when it comes packaged with a 256meg bug fix release. Could it be that I have to have the CCC installed to get the option to work in ATiTool?

Ta for the help guys! :)~

With 0.22 i get 100% my real max MEM Clock of 568!
Yeah, you keep repeating this ad infinitum, but it all comes down to your definition of real. As I see it, yours is real as in real world gaming with the games you have tested. The new code gives 20MHz lower because it stresses the memory more, so this is the maximum your memory can take with a maximally stressful application. It's real under those conditions. The legacy test might be more appropriate for what your mem can take while gaming, but for a technical test of memory performance limits I can't see why you shouldn't stress it as much as possible. Nothing wrong with that! Seems perfectly fine to me :)

Only issue, with a good clean reinstall of the drivers and ATi tool, the CatAI feature remains greyed out.I too have the 8.07 hotfix drivers installed, no CCC and the AI feature works fine. I get different benchmarks with different settings. I'm running an x800 Pro@stock BIOS, BTW.

anyway...

I am using a 256MB, 9800 Pro card and ATI Tool reports my GPU temps exactly 20 degrees higher than actual. I got the same results with version 22 and now with 0.0.23 beta 8.

Has anyone else seen this?

ATI Tool uses the same formula that ATI uses for calculating overdrive temps, which is actual temp + 20c (I believe). So ATI Tool will always report the same temp reported by ATI's own drivers.

And under this other Tests and Conditions this was my 100% Rockstable Mem Clock !
Nevermind...Cynips ,you talk about basics...but thats not my Problem! I know about the differences between lazy Games and a Stress Test...

But i believe, the Problem could be that my Card has 1,6ns Mem Chips on the front and 2,0ns Chips on the back!
Normally it was never before a Problem...but i think with the new Rendering Code it gives Errors and Artifacts earlier...maybe the new Code produce errors on those mixed MEM Chips?

I have no other AI setting software, not even the CCC, and I never have had. Can't be that. Also, I just get a greyed box with nothing in it, no messages at all.

I have three instances of the CatalystAI_DEF key in CurrentControlSet. One for the primary display and one for the secondary one, and one for the ati2mtag service. Each and all are set to '1'. This is as expected.

Wizzy, under what circumstances does ATiTool elect to grey out this box? Is it an active logic decision or a fall-through of some sort? What is ATiTool looking for in the registry? I can mail you a copy of my registry if it will help. Have you tried this yourself with Win2K yet?

Any Win2Kers out there having success with this?

Win2k Pro SP2, 8.07 drivers, classic control panel, sapphire X800XT PE

Also I find artifact scanning scans a little low with all the X800 versions, 590 find max core, 608 if I do it manually, memory says 564 but I can do 585 manual....although, It is much better keeping it a bit low, than when it kept going off through the roof and locking up at 650/620 :)

yeah you're right..but the Difference between old and new Detection Code is to big..there must be something "unreal" with X800 Cards and new Code...
A save Clock is good ,no question! But 0.23b8 detect Artifacts and produce Errors in MEM Clock Areas, where normally 100% no Artifacts and EVERYTHING is Rockstable (also other heavy Stress Tests)!
You can see it with your XT-PE Card with 560MHZ MEM Stock clock!...i dont believe there are REAL Errors at 564MHZ..4mhz above defaults....99,99% of the XT-PE Cards can reach much more MEM Clock (min 580-600Mhz)

Waiting for the new Version with a "legacy Scan Mode Option" so we can use a "real" Artifact Detection on new Version again.

-also within sometime durin the release of .23 betas, i lost the ability of dumpin' the bios to disk (atitool crashes w/ no errors or event log info)
-as expected from other info, another thing i lost sometime durin the betas (which makes a beta a beta) is the usin' of the memory timings control panel (which is very helpful and saves me from havin to use rabit EVERY time i want a change or to test/stress); i get a report that my card isnot supported ((anymore))
-more info on find max xxx : i get an error message saying that no compatible hardware found; at least a hardware accelerator and vertex shader 1.1 is req'd; i have tried catalyst 4.7 to my current release to find a fix, but no such luck

other than those things i have no issues

Hi,

I tried the latest beta 8 and its the same behavior like the 0.0.22:

Trying to find the max core clocking always ends up in a blue screen. I wonder what is wrong !?

Is it the tool, my system, my expectations ?

I have a Sapphire X800 XT PE ViVo and an Athlon XT 64 3500+, using the 8.07 beta driver of ATI, also tried the latest 4.10 released drivers

Both crash after going up to 540 Mhz... the system is warming up, the counting the seconds, then bluescreen.

Windows XP SP1, btw.... Anything else you want to know ?

Cheers for helping !

a gpu crash while find max is nothing unexpected....my core also hang up with x800!
Some Gpu are hang up with to high clock ! MotherNature hangs up..atitraytool too and so on..nothing only with ati tool...
Some other gpu are giving artifacst ,which can be detected! The Mem normally give you artifacts ...

But after reboot you get a message from atitool atwhat clock it was hangig up...so you can see and choose yourmax clock...

I came across 2 bugs when testing the new beta.
- startup with windows doesn't work using either registry or start menu:mad:
(the only way i get it to work is to manually copy the shortcut into my start menu)
- ATItool doesn't minimise when starting with windows.

Suggestion: Could u please put in a option to "minimise instead of close"

Thanx for the great tool ;)

Everything installed and works just like it should! The Mobility 7500 likes to hide at around 314/205, but I've got the X800 up to 590/1250, 575/1240 stable.

i was wondering if you could give me some more information on the volts/temps that you have, as i have the same card (sapphire x800 vivo) but i cant get the core above 530ish without artifacts

Does ATiTool need to be loaded with windows each time in order to apply fan speed settings?

no .. the kernel mode driver does this automagically at boot time
