EDIT: Solution to slow WinRAR extractions below!
OK so on my motherboard I pretty much need to leave EIST on if I want to overclock. This isn't something I mind as power and heat saving are good things. However I'm wondering why it hardly ever gets bumped up unless I run something REALLY intensive? I can watch a 720P video and extract a RAR at the same time and I'll only see it go above 6x to 7 or 8 when I'm switching around between windows. Is the system smart enough to push only as fast as it has to in order achieve the required computations? Basically I'm wondering why I'm sitting here watching this RAR take so long to extract, does the system know that the bottleneck is the hard drive and it can't extract any faster so it doesn't boost the CPU while doing this?
