Buffer amount on hard drives.

How important is this? In terms of reading and writing? Looking at getting a new drive, but should i spend the extra getting a 32mb buffer or stick with a 16mb buffer?

I'm a performance junky... and i'm fine with 16mb cache... you should be 2

but if you * HAVE * to have the best... get one with 32mb.

I do have a WD black on a 64-bit system and a 16mb on another 64-bit system... And I can't tell or see the different in bencemarks.

Those are with the 1TB as an OS drive with the 320 containing folders of backed up data.

Thats whats available state side, but as you can see by the pricing, thats why I opted for the $99 Spinpoint 1TB.
