im gonna do another instal of win 7 64 bit, and try again, i might remove the 8500GT that i have instaled along side my GTX260, i remember something about this being a problem with 186 drivers.

wait. ABIT is not supported yet

Seems to have worked fine, installed sli string & HALmod.
Both shown correctly installed, but I still have to put in two vcards to see if SLI enabled.

HALMod Autopatcher

1. Unpack

2. Run install.cmd from EXPLORER (not totalcmd or something else)

3. Try

hal.dll : some bug fix
code made better

i'll make it better soon

Hi, tested HALMod and the latest slistringinstaller, all went well. Registry patched and HAL replaced. Good work man.:rockout:

Still... no SLI on AMD Chipset, tested with unmodded 190.64 Win7 x64 drivers.

There were problem, not big ones.
I get a recycle reboot on restart.
F8 pick last known good [advance] allows me to boot into W7.
CPU-Z shows x58, SLIC string shows ASUS Rampage II.
Still no enable SLI, but I test 1st with 8600GT & 6600GT.
Soon to test with other cards.

I install both at same time so not sure witch cause problem.
As far as the OS goes it seems to be working fine, just boot problem.

Ok, i need someone to tell me once and for all to know whether this is something wrong or not. Can you enable SLI on two 8800gs without an sli bridge? I google it, and find all sorts of different answers, and someone here said that it was ok to not have one, but nobody else confirmed. Do you need an sli bridge or not?

Oh also Test mode is enabled, but I think maybe be part of the problem.
Since at boot F8 if I pick test mode it boots ok as well as Last known good.
But both ways shows x58 & SLIC is working....
So on normal boot I think there is problem it see with not signed driver Hal.

Well what I try to say is normal boot it shows to be in test mode when it boots
But I get a recycle boot when I don't use F8, so it seems the hack to enable test mode install didn't go as it should.

Ok here is how it went. I turned off test mode, reboot windows finds a problem & fixes.
It did repair & replaced the hal.dll. I enter windows ran install.cmd, reboot all is work as it should now.
No more problems cycle reboots or with modded hal or test mode, showing as x58.
I've done a driver clean, "had 181.71" downloading 190.62 to install.
I'll let you know how it going once this is done.

does the halmod program work under xp 32 bit? It says takeown and such are not valid windows 32 bit applications.
