ooooohhhh 10.10 now is see

ATi better release some decent drivers for these cards otherwise this is a no go after waiting almost 1 month

I was scared as well, hope they were using 10.10.

no its fixed now but the scores and everything look a little . . . . . odd

"waits for wizzy"

It ought to be ...

they are using cat 10.10 drivers

Yes and no (check cat version on 6950):

dosent matter most of these reviews are garbage using 10.10 drivers amd dosent even really have a 6900 series driver ready this is a pretty damn lame release.

As usual, W1zzard will use an older version: sucks but i'm accustomed to it ...

A small price to pay for top notch quality reviews, IMO!

its all over the board, seems that it really performs best at high res, at that price i'd buy one instead of a 580

hopefully the drivers will give better performance by then

Personally, i would like W1zzard to redo these reviews (69X0 cards) in ... say ... 3 months time: a time when, most likely, proper drivers for both nVidia and AMD should be around.

Boy I feel like they suck, guess I was expecting too much out of them, honestly I'm disapointed.

Nevermind I just read Hardocp's review with the 10.12 CCC, performance change is amazing!!!

So when are these new cards coming?

oh boy... I'm starting to get a little afraid now..if a 6870 is about 20% faster than 1 2gb 6950, I hope to see the 6970 be up-to-par with the 580 or 570 at least.

Like it said in the review "if you can't beat 'em performance wise, beat 'em price wise"

Check out the [H]ardOCP review. The tweaktown review uses the old drivers.

I just can't figure out why card makers continue to shoot themselves on the foot with every new launch! Why not get the new drivers out about 1 week before the cards?

This would give reviewers the chance to test them properly with the most current version available (10.12 in AMD's case and 265.90 in nVidia's case).

One may argue: "in that case one would be waiting forever". Though somewhat true, we all know Cat drivers are released every month and since this is December, why didn't AMD launch the cards one week after Cat's 10.12?

Because it would be to late to buy before Christmas?

One could look @ it from that perspective but, if they know they'll launch it by this date, why not work hard @ releasing the drivers 1 week earlier then said date?

You'd think AMD would be a little more careful with these sorts of things (drivers) since initial impressions mean so much...not many review sites will go back and evaluate with later drivers. But the enthusiast who have been waiting all day with their fingers on the order button know and I guess that's what matters for now.

Exactly. A shot in the foot, with a bazooka ...

finally after some threats and some bitching and complaining 2x sapphire 6970s are headed my way

I've complied a list of reviews and also included which driver they are using here. I'm using a separate thread as I'm updating it as I find more review sites.
