My attempt would be with dual quad xeons (each cost around $1800 usd) and around 8gb+ in memory

vadim are nice but er.. a BIT pricey (to u.s. people, vadim is a 'boutique builder' like falcon northwest or voodoo)


edit: and theyre cable management costs shitloads extra(£140!!!!)

I'd rather toss the PPU and go with another 8800 ultra for SLI

or get another 8800ultra gtx for sli and still use the ppu. Also, add a hddvd burner and a killer 18X or 20X dvd burner. BTW, that xfi fatal1ty is cheaper than that.

That board cannot do sli, for its a 16x on first slot and the second is a 4x...but it can do dual quadros...but who cares about quadro ;)

and i think that future games are gonna be slightly more dependent on cpu than gpu...seeing crysis and alan wake.

also, there is no hd-dvd burners :(...and blueray drives can burn dvd...maybe not that fast, but really...who cannot wait another minute to burn :)
