thats me you described ! I am a overclocker that games only because the rigs i build by design for overclocking are great gaming rigs....I spend more time in my BIOS than you can imagine...set up settings in bios ,boot to OS run benches ...back to the bios try this and that and back to windows for benching and onward and so forth into the happy overclocking part time gaming horizon I go...and the key word is HAPPY or is it OVERCLOCKING...hmmm I guess it the same for me and many others

So yes for some it may seem outrageous but to me there is no other way!!!

any beastly synthetics i could acheive would be so i could game all the better on my machine, sure id like to get top benchy scores, but it would mean dick shit if it wasnt translated into a good gaming experience for me

) yes, benching is also a hobbie of mine, but again, as ive said, and is my personal belief, i bench and push my hardware so that i CAN translate it into a better gaming experience. thats just me, and i speak for no-1 but myself

Id rather see what people can acheive thru more "useable" cooling methods, say if some1 acheived 25k 3dmark 06 using a modified phase unit, that would b cool (forgive pun) coz you could actually usethat for an awsome gaming experience etc, and not just one-off shots at the big score

Well he does have a point...We should actually pay more attention in ways that can help us increase FPS in games , ways that can also be applied and in every system that breaks a record rarely anything can be applied in an home desktop system. Sure its nice to break records but in the end it has almost nothing to give to us.

that is wicked, I love overclocking, I actually started playing games less and spending more time tweaking the bios after a while.. By the end of it I wasn't playing games at all just tweaking and running benchies, its kinda addictive and kinda fun to see how far you can go.. I would LOVE to have a LN cooled rig with that kinda hardware in to to play around with, it would be awesome...

As useless as the rig may be in real life (eg. gaming) it is also exactly what you need to chase that world record.. that next step up to get your pc running faster (albeit for 1 bench) than anyone elses in the ENTIRE world.... Fuk yeah... :pimp:

The point of overclocking and benchmarking is to get the highest score, and he did just that. All benchmarks do is give you a number to be proud of, that's the whole point.
