Cooler Master has just announced its latest creation - the CM 690 PC mid-tower chassis. Inside the new case, users can install up to seven 120mm fans and there's space for an additional 80x15 mm fan behind the motherboard tray to further enhance CPU cooling from the rear. The PSU is mounted in the bottom of the case to improve the stability and cooling and Cooler Master has fitted a top mounted 120mm fan to exhaust the hot air out of the case. The CM 690 also has holes for mounting a water cooling unit at the top of the case. The hard drives are mounted in removable racks with anti-vibration pads and shock migration bars. The case features tool free design and it has cable management designs that reduce cable clutter. Please follow this link, if you want to see additional shots inside the case.

With all the fans, vibration dampening material (read- noise dampening) it should sound less like a hurricane and more like a summer breeze.

Remember, its not always about how many fans you HAVE, its the AIRFLOW design that is most important.

True True, but 7 fans with good airflow>2 fans with good airflow (same cfm fans). lol, a summer breeze I would think a strong wind at least.

Nah, I have 8 120mm fans in my Stacker 830, and it's more quiet than my old case with 3 80mm fans. The only time it gets noisy, is if I crank my rad fan all the way up, otherwise it's barely audible.

I use 7 ultra silent Scythe S-Flex fans. Worth every penny. And the cooling is great, too. For instance, my HD2900XT only hits about 74c under full load, on bone-stock cooling. (Which is very good by 2900 standards.)

Back on topic: That is a very, very nice looking case. Depending on it's dimensions, I may actually debate selling my Stacker for one of them.

Ditto, I've got the SFLEX E variant that spins @ 1200RPM. There's 7 in a Stacker 810, plus the psu, and an Antec Spot cool on low. It's actually very quiet. Those fans have a great noisy that's easily forgotten wo/ any odd mechanical quirks.

Now this case on the other hand looks to be everything I've wanted in my Stacker. No window, but optimal placement for fans...one on GPU and CPU, plus great upper exhaust. Hopefully those HDD dampers actually do something for noise tho, unlike these stupid blue grommets on the 810's HDD cage.

Any idea on $ and availability? It seems like I've been waiting and waiting for stuff lately...MX-2, TRUE mount, X-Fi Prelude, etc...

EDIT: According to the CM forums, 8/15/07 and under $100 bucks?! http://forum.coolermaster.com/viewtopic.php?t=6890

/me waits for a version with a clear side panel

I don't think I have the patience for this. I NEED a new case. The CM690 is perfect! other than the side panel of course...
